DPSS lasers for harsh enviroments
Aktyvus photonics – a multidisciplinary team of professionals with diverse scientific backgrounds, sharing the passion for innovation and the experience in the field of solid-state lasers. The group’s unique list of competences includes optical component manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and laser system architecture design - providing Aktyvus Photonics the necessary expertise and know-how to develop the new generation of laser sources.
We are actively implementing additive manufacturing principles in our optical system designs, enabling innovative solutions that improve both our laser size/weight and its optical performance. The team research efforts are focused on the investigation and application of novel materials, whose enhanced thermomechanical properties can further enhance our optical system’s capabilities and robustness.

Laurynas Šatas
CEOMSc in Laser Technology from Vilnius University
With an extensive career in the optical coating industry and a deep understanding of optical enhancement techniques, Laurynas has gained more than 10 years’ experience in optical system development – which he capitalizes for the design and organization of Aktyvus Photonics’ activities, focusing on the preparation of development, productization and sustainability plans.
Julius Skruibis
Head of product developmentPhD candidate in Laser Technology from Vilnius University
Trough his academical career and the participation in multiple R&D projects (both Regional and European), Julius has accumulated more than 6 years of experience in the field of DPSS laser technology.
He is now leading the research team in Aktyvus Photonics, and follows closely the business and product development activities.
Fabrizio De Marchi
Additive technology leadPhD in Energy & Materials Sciences from INRS
Expert in materials science, surface science and morphology characterization, Fabrizio’s academic career was focused on the development of bottom-up processes for the synthesis of innovative materials. With more than 8 years of experience in the characterization of materials at the nanoscale, he is now leading the Additive Manufacturing team.
Dangis Šlapelis
Mechanical engineering leadBSc in Mechanical Engineering and MSc in Applied physics from Kaunas University of Technology
More than 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering design, product development and manufacturing, over 4 of which are in the field of optomechanics. Dangis’ advanced optomechanical helps the multidisciplinary Aktyvus Photonics team to create innovative solutions and design and cutting edge products.
Karolis Cibulskis
Head of operationBSc in Electrical Engineering from Vilnius University
With 10 years’ experience in Telco business, working for both Engineering and Programming departments, more than 6 years’ experience in Sales of laser optical components and several EU funded RnD project successfully directed, Karolis possess a broad business knowledge that allows him to efficiently coordinate the activities of the Aktyvus Photonics team.
